Ship Compass?

Just wondering what exactly this is? I was told that it is a ships compass. But I dont know because it has a sun dial on it i think and everything. It folds to collapse the dial part in. Can anyone tell me what this is. If its old. I found it at a garage sale and thought it looked interesting got it for a dollar.

Nice! Great find for a buck.
I have one that looks just like it. I bought mine new in Pakistan a few years ago for around $10. I think they are made in India and Pakistan. Mine is mostly a cheap desk novelty but the compass works fine, (the sundial will work if you have directions for it.)

Almost exactly the same. Notice that "London" is spelled Londone on the one he found. I tend to agree with the Chinese copy theory but still a great buy for a buck.

I have that box for it also! Doesnt have that neat design on it though.
