shipping?

how sturdy are they? could they be easily bent?

they are sterling silver

A little extra care on shipping collector and particularly sterling flatware goes a long way with buyer satisfaction. Many people throw these in a padded envelope...buyers of these want their items arriving in great condition (unless they're damaged and being sold for melt).

With items that bring many times over melt value I always make a nice package including necklace jewelry boxes or something that makes a nice presentation. At Least I would make a sturdy box to protect the item within the padded envelope. Jewelry boxes can be bought at sales for $1 in bulk.

Sales of these items in and along with a decent looking jewelry box will increase the sales value also. Perception of these items being worthy of it's own protective box shows that the item is of quality and has been well cared for as well as shipped with care.

If your selling scrap items, expectations are far lower.

I will sometimes (even with a padded mailer) wrap objects in bubble wrap and sandwich the item in between cardboard for extra protection. Jewelry goes in like boxes, ring boxes for rings, etc., etc.

I had some little boxes, I wrapped the spoons in bubble wrap put them into the boxes and then into padded mailers so hopefully everything will be ok! thank you all for the advice
