Interesting article!

I spent 13 months on Adak which is further east in the Aleutian chain than Attu. After returning to Adak from a leave we had to fly clear out to Attu to drop someone off and I seem to recall that I could see water all around from the landing area. Much smaller island than Adak which wasn't huge!
