Shoe Buckle???

Assuming its a shoe buckle....anyone have other thoughts? Made of some kind of copper alloy...not iron. IMG-3071.webp

It might be can you put something next to it for size reference

I'm thinking so. Just having ahard time seeing where the pin would go for the tongue and chape. Should be small holes where it gets thicker on either side in your pic. At first I thought that was a hole on the right side but when I enlarged the pic it just appeared to be some corrosion. I still think its a shoe buckle but A2coins is correct when he says something for size reference would help. Nice find!

Most likely modern. My guess would be 19th century
