Short 45 minute hunt and came up with this whatsit?

Dug up some trash as well, but left it in the back of the truck. Dug this at about 5-6 inches deep and came up as a Dime. Not sure what it is yet, posting it over in the what is it forum for some help. Work has me busy the last two weeks and I haven't been out much at all, but it was getting to me and I gave up sleep to go for a little this morning....now it's off to bed.

Here is a picture of the back, only type of ID was this number on the edge. It looks like some sort of mounting device or post in the middle.

A stamped number on the back? Very odd. That would drive me completely crazy.

With the pot of flame on it, I am thinking some kind of thing that went on a fireplace mantle to hold tools maybe...some kind of a hook...I see there is a part broken off, but that button on the back of it would have held it nicely in epoxy or cement...
