Another nice day here after so much rain, got the itch to go do something after work. Went detecting someplace close by where I've been before. On an old hand drawn map near a house it showed a large garden or something similar in the 1850's.
Was running the 6" coil in Park 1, dug 2 pieces of trash then got a nice stable 25 vdi in two directions. Found this about 5" down, thought I was seeing things as I was expecting a modern dime or copper penny.
My county was only founded in 1833 so finding an 1834 coin here is exceedingly rare in my book. I've only found 1 seated coin in 4 years of digging so finding a capped bust is a dream find for me, it was never on my bucket list as i figured it was a one in a billion type thing.
Thanks everyone.
