Went back to the old fairgrounds today and hit a spot I have pounded to see if I could turn up anything else. I was using a new 12 x 10 Widescan ( I like this coil ) on the Vaquero. I set disc. just above iron and thumbed the disc. to see where the solid signals would fall out. This method seemed to work well and I had a pretty good idea what the target was before I dug. I netted 2 mercs, 2 buffalo, 2 war nickels, 6 wheats, 1 plated cross, 1 red flower thingy, some memorials and clad. Not bad for a 2 hour hunt playing beep digger.

nice hunt for a short one. I really want to go hunt an old fair ground one day.

Congrats John, nice haul on the silver, keep the silver coming.

Thanks guys/gals I was impressed with the performance I got out of the Vaquero with the 12x10 coil. I am going to give it a whole day today to see what I can turn up. I'll post my finds later.

Nice finds ... silver is always good ... nice job on the new coil and tweaking your machine in order to pull more finds from an area you have already hunted ... that's what its all about ~ Jimmy

Not bad at all for a 2-hour hunt! WTG!

Nice finds, you are lucky the ground isn't frozen. I just got my new Fisher F75 and can't wait for the ground to thaw out so I can try it out.

HH, Ringfinder

P.S.
I might have to take a short trip to Tenn. LOL

ANY hunt that nets two Mercs is a good hunt!

Ringfinder - you should love that F-75. Don't be afraid to tone down the sensitivity if that's what it takes to run her silent; and deep. The transmit power is always the same and too much sensitivity just makes her "sparky" and noisy on all the extraneous signals. Run her in default mode until you get a good feel for the sounds and display. Jewlery mode is much hotter, I don't like it at all for coin shooting, as is running discrimination under 6, which I prefer.

congrats on the silver and the jewelry!

For 2 hrs that was great...Couple war nickels and some mercs...hmm, some wheaties also. Can't beat that...Congrats

That's a good day there, buddy. I can't wait to see your post of finds from today. Hope you had some good luck.

Regards,

Buckleboy

I would say thats a nice haul. Those Vaqueros love nickels. I love finding those buffalos, they might be my favorite.
