I squeezed in a short hunt this morning while it was cloudy and relatively cool. Got lucky and found a 37' Washington quarter. Also found a neat beer token. The photos of the beer token are from the internet. Mine will need some cleaning and probably won't look this good. Just wondering if anyone can put a date to this token? I also found a Lesney Ford Galaxie fire car not pictured. Thanks for looking and good luck on the hunt.

Very cool token, Beez! Never seen one like it. Anytime there is silver, it's a good hunt!:icon_thumright:

I've found out it's called a spinner token. The front of mine is pretty good and should clean up okay. The back, not so much. And I'm not sure how to clean something like this. I believe it's brass. I might tumble it with my clad pennies and see if that does anything.

Cool finds. I would not clean that token, I'd leave it as is. Looks like it's in great shape. Cleaning may damage it or at least detract from value.

I did a simple eBay search on sold listings for "storz spinner token" and two were recently sold. One on June 22 for $5 (lots of detail but some minor PVC or environmental damage on one side) and one in May for $20 (nice detail but yours looks better).

Hope this helps.

Storz brewing started in 1863, as the Saratoga Brewery, but was sold to Gottlieb Storz in 1884. He moved it to Omaha. The family sold the brewery in 1966 and it was shut down in 1972. Apparently somebody in Nebraska is brewing it again. Anyway, that probably dates your spinner to at least pre 1972.

Hi Tornado,

The photos of the token above are from the internet. Mine is right now in my tumbler with some pennies to see how it will clean up. Trust me, mine did not look that nice.

Nice sliver and a very cool token!
You may be able to look up the brewing co. But I 'm sure somebody on here knows.
