Spent about 5 minutes hunting around the sidewalk in a buddies yard. Asked him when his house was built and he gave me a year in the 1950's. Told him I could find him some silver, to which he replied, "You think?". So off I went. First dug a 1958D Wheat penny. A good sign for sure, and he was happy about it. But this was still not the silver I promised. About 2 feet down the sidewalk from the location of the penny comes a good SOLID high tone and reading. Real good feeling about this one, and told him that this was the silver I promised. Dug about 2 1/2" plug and alas! A 1956 Washington Quarter! This is the first silver Washignton I've found, so I was happy, too! He let me keep it and invited me back to spend more time there. Can't wait to get back!
Happy hunting everyone!
