Short Hunt Yields a Walker

Got home from work a few hours early so went to a local school I've hit many times before. In about 1.5 hours found a 1920 Merc, a silver religious pendant and a 1946 Walking Liberty Half. 4th half of the year (2 Barber and another Walker). Was laying perfectly flat, reverse up, about 8 inches down and rang up as a solid 38 on the Safari. 83 silver for the year. Can't imagine another half this year, as 4 seems crazy to me.

I am lucky to live in the Northeast where there is a lot of hunting ground. I spend a lot of time researching the age of schools and parks and look for ones that have been around since the 1800s to early 1900s. I've found i do best when I go very slow on the swing and work a small area over as completely as possible. I use the Minelab Safari which I absolutely love. It is not unusual to find silver with it at 8-10 inches in some of the old schools and parks I hunt. So nothing really special about what I am doing. Just following the same advice you hear from others but the bottom line is it works!
