Hit my new site for a short hunt Tuesday night and got another first....my first Tootsie Toy! This will date me, but my older brothers had a pile of Tootsies and I have good memories of playing with them. Clad tonight was a '46 Wheatie, '62 Lincoln and '61 (oops!) '68 Rosie. All my clad has been from the same era, late 60's to early 70's. :icon_scratch: Near the barn I dug this toy gun and had to laugh as I was just telling my 8 YO son today how, when we were young, toys were made from metal and lasted more than a year. Also found an unbroken canning lid that will fit my recent Ball jar find.

The homeowner was great and he came out and was telling me where the old fruit trees stood and the old grainery. His grandson dropped by tonight and he called later wondering, "Who was that woman in the front yard?" He told his grandson it was "Just someone looking for work!" :D

Thanks for looking and HH,
Michiganne
p.s. Tried my new Raptor tonight, Mike....still getting used to it.

Congrats on the digs Anne! When using the Raptor, if you want a smaller plug just push it in 3 time. Like three sides of a square, the pray on the third. For a bigger plug push it in 4 times - straight, angle, angle, straight. It would look kinda like the end of a big sword. Pry on the fourth. Hope this helps.

Clad tonight was a '46 Wheatie, '62 Lincoln and '61 Rosie. Ouch, I spend every hunt looking for

for that kinda "clad."

Nice finds!

Good luck,
HH.

Great digs Anne

Must be my problem.....I forgot to pray!

Sorry, Mike, couldn't resist.
I like the longer handle definitely. It seemed harder at times to get into the thicker sod, probably because of the thickness of the heavy duty blade. But once the plug is up it can sure move the dirt.

Nice gun, looks real. Is that a wood grip? sure faired well in the dirt.

Handle is plastic, rest is metal. The hammer still pulls back. "Made in Italy"

I've never seen a Mason jar like that. Sweet! If I came home with that my wife would snatch it before I had a chance to talk.

Nice finds Anne!!!

You got some nice older finds there....Matt

Nice diggs Anne. That is a cool Mason Jar. I have picked up a few bottles along the way but that one would be nice to store all my wheats in. Nice other digs as well. Now off to your next "first".

Like that tootsie toy and the cap gun sure brings back memories! FFD

Nice recoveries anne! I am right with ya. I pulled my first tootsie and 2 ball lids this week! Our ACE's are thinking alike! ;D
