Went back to this one park that I know has been pummeled.
Wasn't too concerned over what I might find.

Didn't expect much and got pretty much what I expected.

But, Blingie's new toy is proving to be very interesting.

This was pretty near the surface and gives a VERY clear 86.

Once uncovered I just figured neat! A fairly large stainless steel necklace
pendant of some sort.

Plain on both sides, no markings. Almost looks homemade.

That's interesting by itself. But, once I got it home and ran a few tests.
Like the aluminum foil, baking soda, and my own chemical testing.

It appears this is about 12 grams of silver!

Now how about that for a nice surprise? LOL

Just never know.

Thanks for peeking!

Oh yeah! Big surprise. I was just expecting it to be a stainless pendant of some sort. Neat but not worth much.
When I got home I tried a magnet. Still could've been stainless though. So, tried the aluminum foil. Seemed to pass, so I got
out my chemicals and sure nuff. Silver! And 12 grams at that! LOL

Nice lil surprise indeed!

Thanks!

Yeah , I was thinking that it didn't look right for stainless steel (a little too white ) not quite grey enough - Nice Score !!

You got a nice surprise. I didn't do so well last week. I went to a huge car show here in Pa and saw what I thought would be a nice little collectible ring. A fellow was selling antique and unique items that, because of the nature of the theme, I had never seen before. One was a home made ring that appeared to be silver. I did not have my loupe with me, but was sure I could see "sterling" stamped inside. $60 was a cheap investment ( if I had seen what I thought I did) so I bought it. When I got home, it looks like "steel"...as in stainless, lol. I think someone used a piece of flatware to make the band.

That's not too bad. Could always be worse. Just figure that the next ring you find will compensate. :)

But, maybe, next time, borrow someone's glasses. ;)

that stainless thing looks like a home made dog collar tag

Nice surprise, silver! Is Blingie practicing the disk throw?

Yep, it looks like a lot of things and I might would've bought that it was a dog tag when I found it.
But, since I've proved it was silver. Home made or not, I have a doubt. Might've been a rich pooch. ;)

Maybe it once had something glued on. :dontknow:

Thanks!
