Today was a solo hunt for me in the windy rain for 6 hours 15 minutes.
I wasn't expecting much so this was a good surprise.
Funny story on the broken Roman Silver - I was gridding way outside the Roman area in the hope for more finds like Monday. I thought I would try a new game/tactic. I would grid past my last turnaround point until I did another dig, & repeat the process, so that I was progressively getting further & further into the middle of no-where. As there were hardly any signs/digs, I soon ended up too far away & just as I worked out that 1 run was now taking 20 minutes so its time to stop this bad idea, I turned around & found the Roman Silver. I then thought, OK maybe I will continue the game..lol But there was nothing else around.

26 Early Saxon Pot Shards (Smashing my last 1 day record) - These are actually extremely rare finds.
Victorian Horse Brass
Neolithic Flint
Medieval Buckle
3 Roman Bronze Coins - 1 Nice one!
1 Hammered cut Halfpenny (Shortcross)
2 Roman Silver Denarius - 1 unknown & the other 74AD Vespasian (Type I need):icon_thumright:

I just cleaned it up & I now think its another Vespasian!

Vespasian is possible but the British Museum Expert (who will get it in hand shortly) is saying the following by picture only;

"It’s a bit of a tricky one given the preservation, but I think you are in the right place. The bust looks like Domitian, with the surviving letters of the legend I think possibly reading [CA]ESAR AV[G…] (read anti-clockwise from bottom right). The reverse is [CERES]-AVGVST, Ceres standing right holding a vertical sceptre and corn ears. It looks like RIC II (2[SUP]nd[/SUP] ed.), no. 976 (AD 77-78) – you can see the type here: Online Coins of the Roman Empire: RIC II, Part 1 (second edition) Vespasian 976 . It’s a shame the coin is incomplete, would’ve been a nice example when whole!"

Wow multiple Roman Silvers...I don't recall that happening too often (or at all?) You must be getting very close to your Roman Gold.

I think our best 1 day total is 4. Had quite a few 2's but not often.

Those coins look great! Congratulations on a very productive hunt!
