Sidewalk Whatsit

Hi all,
Found a old sidewalk area that is being tore up and got permission to check it out and its a small stretch but what the heck.Didn't have Free's touch with coins but did find a whatisit.Any ideas on age or what it is would be appreciated.Its about 11/2 to 2 in long.Thanks for any input.

It looks copper, Whats the back look like?

Is it hollow and smooshed?? Looks like the top off an old lipstick....JO

Does it have threads inside ?

Could it be an old valve stem cap ?

Hi ya bigrig,,,
I would have to go with the lipstick tube lid. It's amazing how so much stuff used to be made of brass, or copper, that is now made of plastic... Good luck & Happy hunting~

Jopher got it correctly first.I just pryed it open alittle and some reddish grit that looks like dried up lipstick fell out.Thanks for the help.
