I recently purchased a vintage signal cannon and am having difficulty identifying the manufacturer and how old it may be and worth. Any help would be appreciated.
The wheels are steel and 4” in diameter and the barrel is 9 1/4” long .

Kind of an odd piece? I have several small cannons, none have the touchhole/vent in the middle of the barrel. I would guess late 1800's. I would like to have one like that for my collection?

It has a big bore for a small cannon, which tells me it was a signal cannon. What is the hole in the back of the barrel for? Very few had markings so it is hard to say where it was made. I would like to have it in my collection?

I do intend on selling it at some point, I was trying to learn some about it before it was listed for sale. I will consider any and all offers .

I think ARC is right. Due to the lack of ID marks I too believe it was a spare time machine shop build?

I like the little cannon, but because of the design it could not have been fired on that carriage. Does the bore go all the way to the touch hole?
