I've begun to check under the coinstars lately...kind of standing away from a distance...and managed a few pennies along with a 64 Roosevelt dime...just happy it was silver...also did a little silver mining...got my first Indian Head (no date) and the nice bank teller had a couple rolls of Kennedy Half dollars in which I pulled 4 that had 40 % silver...not sure about the 1776-1976 half...the tellers are really nice and seem genuinely interested to know if I find anything old...my other bank I sometimes go to the teller complains and seems put off by my requests...so I try to humor her as best I can...

A few more nickels from today.coin mining..41, 46, and 55...

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Crawling under a Coinstar would be a wee too much for me.

1970 was the last Kennedy half with any silver and it was in mint sets only. 1969 was the last silver Kennedy in circulation. Gary

Incorrect, Gary. They still make silver Kennedy half dollars. The 2021 silver proof set is for sale at the US mint right now.

I have a bunch of bicentennial 40% silver halves.

If there was a gold coin under the coinstar machine I would certainly make every effort to take it home with me and could care less what others think.

Grats on all the keepers!

Nice Coinstar find and the Kennedy halves.....last year I got 10 silver coins from Coinstar and the year before I got 20. This year? ZILCH, so far.

Against the wind, I have no shame...I tried my best to be discreet :)

I always check around but not under it. Ill have to drop a penny or pretend to tie my shoe next time I go past one to check. I have found a coin lodged in the green plastic border near the bottom of the machine before but it was not a silver one.

Awesome!!! My local coinstar is always empty. Still look when I'm at the store thanks to you!
