It's been a pretty good week for me. Learning to find the deeper signals. I found my second 1944 Walker this past week. Then the LC (no date, can only read the reverse), followed by the '48 Rosie. Today i picked up the 1919 Merc and six wheats ('12, '15, '19, '19, '56D, '56D). The first four wheats were in the same hole, stuck together with a piece of cloth, maybe a coin purse. Not enough left to ID. The pin says Bostono Baltija Zalgiris (Boston Baltic Zalgiris - Lithuanian). I found all but the Walker at the (Lithuanian) Convent I hunt.
Also found the clay marble with a piece of junk.

I just love it when a 65 year old lady flashes me, especially one as beautiful as that one.

Way to go on your silver...Matt

beautiful silver :icon_thumright:

Awesome find. Congrats on the 1944 half dollar. I found a 1942 half that I just posted under 30 pieces of silver. Good luck and keep those great finds coming.

Great finds. I believe your pin is a Boy Scout pin. I can see the emblem on it. It could be a scouting religious pin. I am a scout leader and have seen several very similar to yours. I will do some more research for you.

The site went down as I was posting and didn't let me finish. Here's the other pic of the merc, marble and wheats.

Treasurehound, I too thought boy scout pin, but wasn't sure if the scouts had international status. The wording is definitely Lithuanian. I'll ask one of the nuns what it means. Also, the date on the pin is 1949-1974 (25th Anniversary?)

Thanks for the replies.

I asked one of the nuns what it meant. She translated it as "Boston/Baltic Basketball, Boy Scout/Girl Scout Medal". I guess Zalgiris was a basketball player or something.
