Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Had what seemed like forever until I was able to go out and get a hunt in - almost 11 days of detectorless purgatory!

I did get out after catching up on some sleep and felt ready to dig.

The spot I chose was one I had been wanting to try out for a while and it didn't disappoint. Started getting wheats the first few minutes, 1956, 1929 and a 1924 D. Then I started finding some odd items, lead printing plate for a shoe advertisement and then an old flashloght shaped like a pistol. Finally began finding some silver with a worn merc and the 1948 Rosey. Three rings popped up: one plain silver band, the other a gold filled one with initials inscribed on the front - but the best one was the 14KT band that had "VIRTUS JUNXIT MORS NON SEPARABIT" stamped inside it and then a person's name and date: "Sept. 28th, 1927". (Maybe some kind of Freemason ring?) Finds kept popping up every now and then after this with some indian cents, tokens and other assorted relics.

Hoping to find some more the next time I get back there when I get a chance. Hopefully before the snow falls.

Thanks for reading my post and good luck to you all!

And once again I ran out of room - but I have a few more photos to share so I'll put them in this reply. (Sorry!)

VIRTUS JUNXIT MORS NON SEPARABIT or "Virtue Unites and Death Will Not Separate"

The "Lodge of Perfection"

A Brother of 14th degree, completing the Scottish Rite symbolic lodge, learns that we should defend, assist, and encourage our brethren, be free from prejudice, intolerance, and envy, and always strive for what may seem unreachable perfection. We should strive for this in the same way that the sacred name of God is un-pronounceable, beyond our human comprehension, yet our faith continues.
The immutable and eternal nature of these Masonic virtues, and the brotherhood they inspire are symbolized in the divine protection of this simple gold band. You are encouraged to wear this ring and to bequeath it to your closest relative or friend, who should keep and treasure, but not wear it.

:icon_thumright: Hope this helps you out on your ring a little bit .It is a Masonic ring .

Great finds! Awesome ring. HH

Thanks for the replies and especially the added information!

I took another look at some of the wheats I dug and noticed that I didn't have the 1924 D on my list. (might be less of them than others possibly) This one is a bit odd - and I hope someone can clear this up for me: do all coins line up correctly when you flip them over? This 1924 has about a 20% tilt when I flip it over and it doesn't line up. I realize this may not be much of an error but I wanted to know for my own curiosity.

Took a couple closer shots of it as it sits and then when I flip it exactly over. (I haven't gotten around to cleaning any of them yet so please excuse the dirt)

Any info on this possible error would be most appreciated. :icon_thumright:
