Got a late start on Thursday for an after work hunt. Hit the ground at about 6:30 and was there for an hour and a half. Found some square nails, a small iron buckle and thought I may not find a coin. Got a 95 signal that seemed large so I thought it was a horseshoe; turned out it was a Walker half. Leaving the parking lot I spoke with the gentleman who locks the gate at night; he grew up in the area and recalled sledding every winter down the very hillside I had detected.

Friday, I tried another park in Dundalk, but it was a bust because it was filled when the neighborhood was put it. Just found modern stuff, no deep old signals

Not to be deterred, I headed back to an area where I'd had some success and spent the rest of the day there. Lots of wheats. Did find a merc. Dug an old police button made by John A Griffith & Co. of Baltimore. I looked through Baltimore City directories from 1859 through 1890 and this company shows up in 1865. Since the company was a tailor service, I'm not clear whether they made the buttons or had them made with their name as the backmark; Waterbury made an identical button. Found an old suspender buckle, just didn't have room to fit it or the clad in the picture; clad came to $4.09.

Thanks for checking out the pics!

Thanks ATW. Hope you are having success in the parks of NYC!

Good job. Congratulations on the silver finds. Your Walker looks to be in great condition.

Great digs!
The Merc, well call me crazy, but the smoother, the better...just love the look old worn silver

Thanks Big Wave Dave! There's alot to like about silver!

Thanks tomhighland! Walker would have been in better shape had I not dinged the reverse. After being in a plowed field for years it already had some "old" surface cuts. I just added a few more. All in all, still happy with "big" silver.

Awesome, well rounded hunt! A little bit of everything...Love the Walker, whats not to love about digging big silver!?...congrats on a great day, thx for sharing, ddf...

Excellent mixed bag of stuff, and that Walker is really sharp!

Congrats on the Walker and merc and other nice finds, nice post

Really neat group of various finds and I always get envious when someone finds a Walker as I have yet to do so.Remember as a kid in late 5o's early 60's my dad giving me one occasionally to spend. What I am curious about is what the Baltimore county individual tag is about.

Hey ddf! That's my second Walker ever.

Thanks J. Cache. Items from these two hunts have given me a good "jumpstart" on our competition board for the August club meeting.

Thanks Art. That merc is worn thin; probably lost in the 40s, being a 1918.

Thanks ecmo. Never had a Walker as a kid. Found my first detecting in the 80s and then took a ling break from detecting (25 years) before finding this one last week.

Oh great there's hope for me yet.Similarly to you I started detecting late 80's, my used detector quit after 3 years so I did also till 2013.

What's done is done. There's still much to be found. Research and persistence will pay off in the end.

Thanks calabash! Very pleased with this week's finds.
