Made some decent finds on a new permission last night one of the origional presidents houses from the local universtiy dating to the 1860's at the latest....soooo sad is that they are digging up the property, but it gets me a chance to get to the old stuff. I'm finding more and more in my area that the older stuff is really really deep. the large token and the silvers were all around 8 to 10 inches, and this house was an 1800's house. Which means the old stuff is even deeper. Managed to pull some old stuff from the dug up part though; some kind of fob, a cufflink, harmonica reeds, bail seals, some kind of small token with a hole, and the list goes on. Heres a few highlight pics of some of it. Going to slam this property hard, considering the 13inch coil for the sport once I get all the trash dug out. Or I might have to get a pi machine to start hitting the depths most of the 1800's stuff seems to be in my area. So the large token is a bank advertisement token from 1920s, no idea about the token with the hole. The merc is actually a key date of sorts I think? 1921d but no idea on grade or value yet. Found a silver washington as well.

What a splendid bank token to compliment all those goodies! Great job!

I forgot to say that I think most of those holed tokens are amusement tokens of different sorts.
I think there are some holed ones, too, that were for "Company Stores."

Here is an example of both.

wow i was thinking 50 or so because i am terrible at grading. Too bad I love shiny things and probably will never sell it haha

great finds, I found a small tax token from Oklahoma with a hole in it, was for Elderly assistance, 5 cents

Hey man, that is a sweet Mercury dime. I'm no grading expert, but I'd say it's worth at least a couple hundred bucks for sure. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1502517091.092376.webp

Congratulations on a sweet hunt.
That hunt would have made me a happy camper.

Pretty nice hunt, a really nice Merc. dime, and the token. I'd be revisiting the place a few more times that's for sure.

Congrats on your finds. Your 1921 D Merc is a key date, with only the 1916 D having a lesser mintage. In a low grade of Good 4, the coin would be worth $75.00 Yours seems to be in better shape than that so the price goes up. Your token with the number 31543 may also be a telephone booth token.

Those are cool tokens

thanks everyone, I Went back found a few more things, will be posting something again soon

Congratulations on an excellent hunt. Great assortment of finds.

i know old thread but I finally got that dime graded. 20180803_132910_resized.webp

Doesn’t the cost of getting it graded in the first place negate most of the perceived value?

love those tokens!
