I was looking at some of my coin collections the other day.... one book of 108 silver coins has a melt value of about 8K... My gold has a melt value of about 130K. These are not prices (even close) to what I paid for them!

That's great ! Many of our fellow detectorists/coin collectors have smiles on our faces now. It makes up for all the disappointments of the past. Aside from the joy of finding old coins, how many times we were bummed when the silver War Nickels, silver Dimes, Quarters & Halves were dateless, or had the crap beat out of them. We would ask ourselves; "Who's gonna want to buy this crappy coin from me?"
It's a whole new ballgame now. Even a silver War Nickel has a melt value of over 5 Bucks !!
