got out this morning for an hour or so in between raindrops. Had gotten pem. to hunt a yard ,circa 1880, where the father(owner) had gotten killed on his way to themarket when his wagon tipped over on him. Later in years the house burned down with the only daughter inside. :( Forgive me but in the back of my mind was the word "cache". Hunted around ,wheat, wheat wheat. Couldn't seem to break through the 1900's! Shell casings everywhere so I wasn't really digging anything that came in under a penny. Got a trashy hit, but different, so I dug. Out popped a little croatel! Chugging along I got the best signal so far, still only a solid dime reading, and up came this silver blade. Not sure if it's a letter opener or a fruit knife! A little while later another penny hit and I dug this wheatie in a jewelers ring! My first thought was that it might be a VDB S! Took it home and cleaned it and it's a 1956 that seems to be silver plated!? Somebodys B'Day? It6 was good to get out , it's been a while for me because the ground was dry and my 'tector has been acting up. Oh yea, got a cute little button too!

Really nice knife - I wonder if that's an old butter knife? No matter what it was used for, it's in very nice shape and has a nice design on the handle.

Good job - odds are there is more there
