This button looks like one that would be used for a visor hat or cap. It was in a jar of military buttons. It looks like it is made of silver, has a screw cap to secure it. It is about the size of a nickel. Experts w :dontknow:hat is it?

Jimmy UK has it right. It's a small Drawer-knob.

For anybody who doesn't already know... it was installed by removing the slotted wide-top screw, then sliding the knob's shaft through a hole in the drawer's front , and then re-installing the wide-topped screw from the inside of the drawer.

Although some military collar-insignia had a "screw-stud back," there's no need for a slotted screw on insignia or buttons.

It looks like one from the picture but this thing is quite small. The screw and stud might be only 3/8" to 1/2". It would have to be a small drawer. Thanks for all of the input my friends

I was thinking Japanesse from the flower on it, but haven't been able to find a match. If it's silver it would have to be off of a pretty fancy hat thought, they're usually just brass or gilt.

Used on belts and horse harness for decorative parts. Available from jewelers supply like Rio Grande etc.. A south west thing. Could be silver, though a lot are plate.
