Silver button w/ a makers mark!

Found these today, anyone have information on the silver cuff button? Can’t seem to find the maker mark


Mystery solved! The button is from the Kingdom of Sardinia, 800/1000 Silver used from 1824-1872

I'm going to float a theory on this one.
It is not usual to make a silver button & put your makers mark on the front. All the ones I've seen are on the reverse.
Because its silver & had a good value I think this circulated as a de facto 'Slap Token'. They countermarked blank silver coins, why not countermark a broken Button/Cufflink.
Therefore, my theory is the mark was done by a silver-smith many years after its manufacture. Lots of these types of countermark have never been identified, & yours 'might' fall into this bracket.

Can't help with the ID, although I like Crusader's theory, but those are 2 sweet finds- Congrats!

I tend to believe it is a broken cuff link. Search the area hard enough and you just might find the other half.
