Silver buy / sell price

The shop near me buys at $X per $1 face. Currently is $12.30 per $1 for 90% and $4.40 per $1 for 40%. From what I've seen around me, these are fairly good prices at hassle free selling. If my math is correct, this shop's prices are above melt for the 90%. It had me contemplating selling off my hoard, but I think I'll continue to sit on it for awhile.

Vguy: thanks for the info. I have NO real local coin shops around me, only pawn shops & those buy/sell gold & silver shops. I hope to hold on my stack as long as possible, but fear that I'm going to need to use it shortly due to social security limited funding to us seniors. Be nice if AG shot up to $48 just like back in late 2011. Then I might reconsider selling right away.

Right now Provident Metal is paying $4.59 for $1.00 fv on 40's
And $13.45 for $1.00 fv on 90's

Wow - Provident is paying 13.45 x face? I sold a bunch locally at 12.5 x this weekend - damn. One LCS was recently paying 11.25 x and selling at 14 x. Quite a spread, but they have rent to pay.

LCS near me sells for between 14x and 16x face value. Usually buys for 80% of melt value, but can be talked up to 95%.

One thing you might consider is becoming a charter member and selling here.

He is buying 20 back of melt and people sell to him? Every coin shop in my area is usually 5 to 7 back of melt. I frequent
them so often I usually get 3 back of melt when I sell, but I am there sometimes twice a week. Once owner has me wait
on customers if he is busy with another.

I only see Provident buying back at $12 x right now, not $13.45. That'd be nice though! My LCS has a buy/sell spread of +/- $2, so today buying at 11.75x and selling at 13x.

My LCS is all over the board. I wouldn't ever try to sell to him because for a local shop even his junk stuff is expensive. Sell prices are anywhere from 14-20x face for junk. :( Very stubborn on pricing too, I mostly just get coin albums from there.

Just checked Provident and their buy back price for 90's is $13.43.

Yup, there are 2 dif buy back prices, junk silver which is less or the kennedy buy back price, have to be careful when selling to them that you get the kennedy price and not the junk price. HH Maverick.

And buy back right now is $13.93.

Here.

In Pinellas FL the bullion dealer here was 12.5 and held for weeks there. Called this AM, 13.25X face for halves and smaller. Some Barber dimes in good for $2, worn for 1.50 $20 for peace or morgans. 2.50 over spot on eagles but I forgot to ask on gold.

So how do I get their $14.00 buyback price? When I go to their "sell to us" page, they're paying $12.50 there. Do I need to have an account or something? I don't see anywhere on the Kennedy page where I can actually proceed to get the $14.00 price.

Go to Provident Metals web page then click the box at the top to show you your options us silver bullion, choose 90% silver, when you get to the page that shows the bags of junk silver go down the page till they show the picture of the Kennedy half dollars click on that on that page in the middle of it it shows the buyback price.

I see that, but how do I GET the price and not the $12.50 listed on the sell to providential page? Has anyone here sold back to Provident? Do I need to ASK for the better price?

I wonder if the $14 price is only if you sell them in bag quantity, and the $12.50 is if you sell it to them in less then bag quantity.
