Hello all, Got out in the rain today at one of my colonial sites in Pa. Dug colonial Silver, The small one is a pure Silver button with shank, and the larger one is a Token I believe made from a 1Reale. The other pic shows the reverse side. The Token is upside down, but you can make it out.

Whoa, that's cool for sure and you're probably right. Very cool indeed.

PACO,

A couple of sweet silver finds for your efforts.

Regards + HH

Bill

Oh man I just love those finds. Something about old silver peeking out of the dirt that brings a huge smile to my face. Great finds buddy

Thanks Ahab8, I love Colonial hunting .......

didn't realize they had the elongated coin machines 200 years ago :-). Nice finds!

Great couple of monogramed finds, very nice!

Thats Very cool, Congrats!!

Man now that's some cool stuff right there, congrats

I don't remember the last time I saw a Colonial love token being posted here, and being silver, that's gotta be a rare find.
Killer, killer find.
Kudos!

excellent finds. I love personalized stuff

Thanks curbdiggercarl57, That's what I was thinking, I never saw a Silver Colonial Love Token. Thought I would post it.... I believe its rare myself,

Everyone keeps going on about the token, but for some reason, I really like the button. Can we see a pic of the shank?

PACO, Those personal relics are my favorites. Two very awesome finds there. Nice hunt... The rain has been helping me get some deep whispers lately at my pounded sites.

Those are 2 awesome finds, but I was wondering what clues make you feel that the larger item came from a 1 reale? Is the weight about the same?

Both are incredible finds! Congrats!

Smaller one looks to be a cufflink, late 18th C, the other piece is nice as well.

Those are two sweet finds and will look great in the display case. I agree with Cru as to the one being a cufflink. The token was likely made by a silversmith, and silversmiths commonly used coin silver during the colonial period. Since most silver coins were Spanish at the time, the probability of it being made from Spanis silver is high. Bill makes a good point, you should compare it's weight to a one real.
