Nice little silver.

Nice find, but they don't typically mount real diamonds in silver. You might want to take it to a jeweler to see if it's a diamond or CZ.

real diamond or not, its a sweet find!

I agree with the fact that it would most likely be a fake, i wasnt the least excited at first but after a rinse its hard to think its not real, very good fake if it is. Its a hint yellow, like a less than perfect diamond, but im no expert. When looking at engagement rings i looked through many loose stones and have a pretty good idea what a real one looks like.

Interesting fact I learned from a diamond dealer in NYC. I was told from a reputable source that you actually can't tell the difference between a real diamond and a CZ with the naked eye. The CZ will not have the internal imperfections like the diamond does (it's "signature" per se, although I believe they are starting to make fake stones now with imperfections) and these can only be seen with a (10X) jeweler's loupe.

It's still a nice find and I do hope it is a diamond. Have a jeweler check it for you. They should do it for free.

Also my wife has 2 pairs of silver diamond earrings

Are you sure your wife's diamonds are not set in white gold? It looks just like silver. Diamonds are usually set in gold or platinum.
