Left the house early to head back to Baltimore County site for another troll through the fields.
Hands eventually warmed up. Everything was coated in ice, but there was sunshine.
First good find was a flat button; it was green in the hole so there's a chance it's old.
Here's the dig.
A deeper target, at about 7 to 8 inches was the shotgun headstamp, UMC CO NEW CLUB, probably from around 1900.
Nearby came the piece from a pocket knife.
Was looking for any signs of broken pottery as I moved along but nothing obvious.
Got out of the fields and back on the grassy area between fields and dig a 70s signal that at first glance looked like a bird band, but then I noticed the writing said "STERLING". A nearby signal produced the end-cap that was once attached. Not certain what this was part of. Ideas?
Here's how it looked to me.
At the end of that same grassy path I got a solid 82 signal, so you know I was thinking "largie" but that was not to be; it turned out to be a modern quarter.
Thanks for checking out the pics, vids and liking. Happy hunting!
