Hello everyone!

I'm back from a two week tour of the west. We went through South Dakota and we stopped at my dad's old church. It is a hundred years old and I got a chance to show my MD. Around the church was some old pennies, however, i soon hit pay-dirt. I stepped onto the parsonage lawn and I got a dime hit. Out pops, at three inches, my first Mercury dime! Then a foot away, I found my second! I then found a spill of a silver quarter and dime. I then found a silver roosie and 2 wheats. All of these where 3-4 inches (as opposed to the 7-8 inches in Michigan). Needless to say, I was quite happy. All of this in 45 min

The next day I though I would hit a school in rapid city and try my luck again. I ended up with a silver charm and some usual junk, plus a pendent that wouldn't stay in my pouch ???

We saw Mt. Rushmore, deadwood, crazy horse monument, and a whole bunch of stuff...it was real fun!

We decided to get back through Michigan through the U.P. (which has many good beaches)

We stopped along the way and i saw a real rocky beach outside the harbor which i hit in the last few hours of the day. i found some good old junque and what i think is a brass wedding ring (I would appreciate any thoughts or info on it)

The next day I got up before dawn (5:30), got a quick breakfast and hit the muddy, rocky, stinkin', godforesaken beaches. I was attack by nats, mosquitoes, and sharp sticks. I saw many chunks of shipwrecks, some very old looking, as well as iron spikes all over the place. Through all my fruits and labor I got:

1874 Indian Head cent! my very first one
1911 wheat in great shape
3 memorials
toy gun
4 small caliber lead bullets, they have rings around them and a hollow base (any info ??? )
top of a copper nail used in ship building
pocket watch cog
lead nail
cool shipwreck spikes
and a lead weight with the ship's initials E. A. D. carved into it

Have a happy summer everyone
