Haven't posted for a couple of weeks so I thought I would throw up some of my finds. I had found more Indians than those pictured, but had thrown them in with the rest I found so far this year. Shield nickels may be toasted, but I've never found so many in one years as I have this year. Pulling them in different spots too. Pulled a nice little gold cross out of a hole with a 3" iron nail. Almost all this stuff came out of a heavily hunted park and school yard. The KG, one of the shield nickels and the Balboa came out of a new spot in the woods.

I know a number of guys who hunt this school yard and their feeling is it's hunted out for silver and just about everything else. The difference is in attitude while digging. When I get a signal I try and find a reason why I shouldn't dig it instead of why I should. As a result I do dig more trash, but I'm pulling good finds where they think it's hunted out. If you do the same I'm sure you'll find more good finds where you detect. I should mention that we're all hunting the same places and using the same detector, the CTX 3030.

Sorry for so many photos. I haven't posted for a couple of weeks and also wanted to show that I do end up digging lots of trash and some clad too.

Man you and the CTX are taking no prisoners. I agree that a hunted out place is not really hunted out, it's just that the easy targets have been pulled. One must pull some odd VDI's and iffy tomes to find the deep treasure. It looks like you have had some great hunts recently. I particularly like that sterling religious merit pin.

DANG BREWSTER MAN WHAT A BUNCH OF FINDS . LIKE THAT POCKET WHATCH SWEET .

Great bunch of finds. Love that merit pin! And the Balboa coin turned into a charm!

That's a nice variety of finds, definitely worth digging more trash:thumbsup:

Great group of finds Don! I was with you for some of them, love the gold cross and of course the KG II but for some reason I really like that silver Balboa coin metal, just awesome. Enjoy my friend!!! HH

Actually the coin was found in a hole with a set of keys. First came out the keys. Then part of the chain connecting the coin to the keys and finally the coin. Pays to double check the hole.

You hit the nail on the head Loco. Unless the place is tiny, no place is ever really hunted out, just the easy targets. That merit pin you like is a classic example of this.

Any info on the merit medal? That is my favorite too. What a great group. The good finds look to be as many as the trash almost!
