After reading lenmac65's post about his awesome Barber spill, I was inspired to to get off my butt and into the snow in search of treasure. I returned to a favorite site where the snow cover was manageable. The targets were few and far between. After a wet and cold 2 hours, my haul included: an ox shoe, a 1963 dog tag, three pennies, and assorted crap. I finally hit on a good sounding signal, but I wasn't too optimistic, given the mid-70's VDI. Maybe a IHP? I was quite surprised when out popper a large copper. That's #4 for me for the year.

I did some gentle cleaning at home, and I was happy to see the profile of good ole King George ii. It's extremely worn, and the reverse is in awful shape, but still a great find in my book!

Thanks for taking a look. HH!

Nice to be a positive influence for a change:laughing7:.
Love that copper. The obverse is worn, but looks to be in solid shape. My spill turned to nil today, as I went back to that lucky spot this morning before the snow and got nothing - Oh well. Congrats to you on a nice hunt.

A KG in any shape is a nice find. I have yet to throw one back because I didn't like its looks. :laughing7:

I've dug some counterfeit KGIIs that had wonky VDIs.

Nice! What an awesome feeling when you see that copper in the hole.

Thanks everyone for the comments. This fresh batch of snow ( 6+ inches today where I am) is killing me. Plus more in the forecast! I'm thinking no detecting for a while.

Jeff H.- I was wondering if this may be a counterfeit... the numbers didn't seem right.

Gene Mean- I my book, there's nothing better than seeing a big ole copper at the bottom of the hole...unless of course it's a big ole Spanish silver!

Great find! I have never found any large copper out west here in the mountains (or anywhere else, for that matter)! Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Nice!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

I was gonna say that one looks counterfeit and with that VDI it could be, I found 2 counterfeit KGII’s last year that only gave a 16-17 vdi on the Nox . Great find anyway, I like it!!!!
