silver ore

hi,,i found some nice looking silver ore,and was hoping somebody could tell me what the best way to extract the silver would be, to see what i may actually have,,,,,,,i have heard nitric acid works,,bit need some more information on that,,,,,and also melting it out perhaps,,,,,thanks kerry

Hi, any pictures of the ore? Maybe crush the ore and pan out the dust. At the ghost town of Bayhorse, Idaho, there are old kilns where they roasted the ore using charcoal, and the ore was silver/lead/gold. Possibly your ore could be worth more as a specimen. Niffler
