That's a nice piece. Not sure of the ID but I'd certainly be pleased with a find like that. Congrats!

Very nice but not a clue here. Did you find it in Mt Airy with a single bullet close by?

What little I could find online says this is a vintage security officer badge. No description of what "vintage" is.

Mid 20th century?

This page has that same badge, but doesn't say the date: Badges S
The rest of the badges on the page are from 1939-1955 so your badge might follow suit.

In a lot of states security officers are not allowed to have star shaped badges. A special officer is a security guard with fancy wording. A view of the back pin might be better to show as to be able to judge the year. However, most again will be speculation.

According to the website it's a police badge, which I hope it is cause a security guard BADGE is a bit lame

I have NEVER seen a special officer badge that was a police badge, I have seen PLENTY that were security officer badges though. I am only speaking from MY experience and training though. Maybe some police departments with little money used them but I really think unlikely.

Also MOST police officer badges had either the officers name or badge number on it. Mine had my name. This one is blank. Security officers don't have badge numbers.

That one sold for 5.00. Do you have a picture of the back?

Dang CS since the layoff at garbage company the only decent work I can find is a security guard job at the slaugterhouse. I know that may be a bit lame but I have to eat.

That one is a little different than mine, but your probably right, it should have a number. I will take a pic of the back in the morning, thank you for your info

I meant no disrespect, I only meant the badge would be lame compared to a police one
