I found this silver plated match safe at a plantation site in Vicksburg. I believe it's going to be late 1800's. Let me know if anyone out there knows more about this relic. Could it be older? Anmatchsafe.webp

I believe you have a nickel plated brass. They were also made in Silver and Silver plate

There is also a remote possibility that it Might also be Victorian era Business card holder. Before one thinks that it is too small for a Business Card Keep in mind that cards came in many sizes.
