Hey gang,

Wasn't going to post for a few days to let the finds build up but I finally got to metal detect at a Christian School playground; I've been waiting for the rugrats to get done hanging around there. Besides a bunch of clad I found a 925 silver necklace with a small box attached (also 925). My sister tells me its a prayer box...you put a prayer in it and wear the necklace. There wasn't any prayer in the box, I'm guessing that the prayer wasn't that they wouldn't lose the necklace. This post is three days worth.

Other notable find...the ring in the center with the pink heart stone; I can't tell for sure whether it is silver. It has some lettering on the inside of the band but my magnifying glass isn't strong enough to see what the letters/numbers are. Pretty ring though.

Up until a week or so ago I had never seen a Euro coin, the first two coins shown on the first picture are Euro coins. The next two are Mexican followed by a Chucky Cheese token (my second). The third picture is the clad, minus the 112 pennies that were too bashful to get their picture taken. 81 of those pennies were found today.

Happy hunting all.

108. I'm going to invest in a better magnifyer, my eyes are just too old to see some of these tiny letters and numbers. I don't think there are enough letters to be 950 PLAT, the ring is pretty light. I have now lost count of how many rings that is...15 or 16 maybe. Nowhere near Bdoo's numbers ;D

You should get a jewelers loop. You can get a cheap one for like $5 at a craft store or even sometimes at the jewelry counters at Walmarts or a department store.

WTG buddy, keep up the great work!
More gold please!! (got to put that thought into you head...think positive!!)

Hey Blue, no secret. Most of them came out of the chips that way. The ones that were so bad I couldn't read the date I just put a drop of Mr Metal on them and rub them between my fingers for a second or two then wipe it off. I haven't bothered with the pennies. I do have a tumbler which I just bought and have yet to use.

Good looking batch of finds.
Nice Nickel Count! Looks like you cleaned the school yard out........
Regards,
Jules

Hey Prober that is one pile of plunder you got there.....The silver necklace and box and pink ring are super....

Keep safe and keep diggin...

I love that prayer box necklace.

You should save all those trinkets and then get some jump rings and craft cord. Make necklaces and bracelets and sell them at your next yard sale/tag sale.

That'll get 'em back out in circulation. :D

WTG..I've been workin on a local Christian School myself, it's locked tighter than a drum now that the kids are out for the summer....Two HUGE playgrounds, a soccer field, football stadium...a hunters dream !!!! Not sure how to approach them now..someone musta told em detectorists were BAD people or sumthin !!! They sure took a negative attitude when I asked...but I'm dedicated and persistent...something will work out I hope !!!

Best of Luck to all !!
