all new silver coins will have S mint mark..to my knowlege S mint mark is only used for mint/proof sets...

Also the proof coins have a cameo look to them where the bust (head) and reverse are frosted looking.

Very nice discovery! I too have nabbed so many silver coins and oldies out of the cash drawer at work. The other girls think I'm crazy when I find one! They are just kids though.....and boyfriends are the only thing on their minds!

That is one thing I miss about working at the cash register. I have found many neat finds. My last find was four Kennedy proofs. I still want to know who would spend a proof. Someone unknowledgeable of coins, it would have to be.
