Hey folks!

I've been out of commission lately with a gnarly head cold, and yesterday was the first day in about a week I actually felt human again. So, I decided to do just a couple hours worth of detecting at the silver schoolyard and netted my sixth silver from this site...a beautiful 1944 Mercury dime. One of the nicest I've dug. It was down about 7" and gave a nice, clear signal.

Also dug a no-date wheatie, '64 Canadian penny and, of course, lots of clad.

edit: After posting the above I went out for about an hour to the same schoolyard, and this time nabbed a 1926 Merc! Nice. I think I like the old, wore out ones better. Much more character. This one was only 4 inches deep, and makes #7 from the silver schoolyard.

HH,

Ray

Way to go Ray! I think I like the older ones with character too.

Glad your feeling better.

Love see'n that merc n the hole! Congrats!

The Merc dime is a real nice looking coin Ray, :icon_thumleft:
but , like you, I think the older ones have a little more
character. Nice finds and continued good hunting.
Gold Nuggets :hello:

Very nice job on the mercury dimes! Looks like your kicking butt :)

The coins of years gone by reflect a time when the coinage had character.
