✅ SOLVED Silver Spoon Markings?

[oddcoins]

Hello!

I dug this today in Eugene Oregon. I think it is silver! The markings on the back look like "H & S" and a bird of some sort. It weighs 20.3 grams.

Anyone know what these markings are for sure? How old is this spoon?!

I believe you have an HKS1 by Hotchkiss & Schreuder

Looks like a winner to me.

Not being marked as sterling it may be the coin silver variety they also made: Hotchkiss & Schreuder, HKS10 (Coin) at Replacements, Ltd
-not a big difference in silver content, but if you sell it then it's good to know

Oh WOW ~ thanks everyone for the info!

This is probably the oldest thing I have ever dug in Oregon!
