Silver Spoon

The boy and I had a pretty good day today Metal detecting.

I found my first silver spoon and my first civil war bullets.

Here's my spoon

Stacy found this silver ring not 5" away from where the spoon was found.

Here's the two bullets I found today,Stacy also found one like the one on the left.

We also found two Indian Heads,here's one of them.

Stacy found two large cents.

And the other still in the hole.

Here's my better finds for the day.I need to get some pics from Stacy of his finds.

This hunt all took place b/c Sunday afternoon I found and returned A purse that belonged to the owner of the second place we detected.
The lady couldn't believe that someone was honest enough to return the lost purse to her with everything still inside it.She was so glad she wouldn't have to cancel credit cards and have to deal with a lost drivers license.
When I contacted her about finding her purse she asked why I was in the area where she left it behind.I told her I was metal detecting and she said come metal detect my yard.
How Sweet is it!!
It's been a great adventure from the start.Two days before finding the purse we drove by the owners 1870's place that was a bed and breakfast for years.I told my son I'd love to detect that yard,not knowing at the time we'd soon be doing that.
When I first called her Sunday evening she was at church so I left a message,call me I have something you might like back.
When she got home from church she got my message and knew it was about her purse.When she first called me she said she was just at church and that she prayed about her lost purse.She said it's in your hands God!!
She walks in the door and there's my message on her answering machine,God does listen!!

The boys been kicking my butt forever with nicer finds.These last couple weeks I've been doing a little better then the boy with our finds.Yesterday I really thought I held my own or at least kept up with him.lol

We made another trip back to the old bed and breakfast site an found some more goodies.

Stacy found three more old bullets,pretty nice variety too.I found a partial one too.

Here's a nice sight laying in the hole.

Cleaned up at home.

It's got a patent date 1886

Also found this old flat button.

We found some clad and a couple wheats too,two were a 1913 and a 1914.Found a lot of chunks of lead and other little things too.Still have areas to cover out away from the old house.The flat button and a couple of the bullets were found away from the house.
