I check out this site almost every day but I haven't posted yet. Mostly because I am new to Tnet and it has been so hot out this summer that I haven't been out too much. I hope to get out a lot this fall and post some good finds. I have some good fields in the works. I did get out last weekend and found my first silver spoon! It even has a Pat date on it of 1891. I hope to get back there for some more goodies this weekend!

I believe your spoon was manufactured by Whiting, and was retailed by Smith Patterson and Co. (a Boston Jeweler)

Congrats on the nice old silver spoon!

Brian, that spoon is gorgeous. Very nice condition, and looks to be monogrammed. Great find. Congrats! -Lisa & John

Congratualtions on the nice spoon recovery. :occasion14:

Great find! I have only found plated ones...

Yup, never found a silver spoon, only plated. Not a common find...
