silver umax won't pick up iron?

With Tesoro zero degrees is to the right and the range of acceptance runs right to left so that an ED 180 will accept the Ferrite where the ED 120 would be somewhere between a steel bottle cap and foil. I suppose actual field acceptance would be somewhat different depending the soil conditions."
this was a quote from another post somewhere else. but from what i understand and according to the chart posted, the silver umax with the ed120 will not pick up any nails because it does not go low enough on the acceptance range. has any one experienced this?
