- Tesoro silver umax
Hi all. Haven't posted in a long time. Haven't been detecting much either but yesterday they tore up the sidewalk in our small town and that inspired me to get out my silver umax. There was about 100 ft. of sidewalk torn out on the east side of the main street. The town was founded around 1895. I reckoned that ground had never been searched. I started and was finding nothing but old nails. I conjured that the dirt was fill where they built it up to pour the original sidewalk. About 50 ft. of the area had been dug down further so they could build their forms for the curb. They piled all the dirt up against the buildings so I started searching that and the first good signal of the day was an 1899 Barber Dime. About 10 ft. more and I found a 1939 Mercury dime. The only two good signals and they were both silver. I will try and get back when they dig the rest. They are a little rough but they will go into my junk silver pile for a rainy day.
