I did a short hunt with my grandson and was able to teach him something with two finds barely 6 feet apart:

Sorry for the blur on the two dime pic, but the '50-S was in amazing shape, even having distinct hair waves on FDR. I am confident it was dropped new and didn't age at all for almost 70 years.
Then there is the clad dime beside it - 50 years newer and aging fast. My lesson to the grandson was why silver is treasure and clad is for toll booths and there's a world of difference pulling one from the ground versus the other. HIs eyes lit up and he pointed to the 50-S and said "this is treasure!" Lesson learned!
