well lost my job yesterday so I thought if I detected some today I might feel better...lol

I have been meaning to detect this yard of my friends but just never got there. I only had 2 hours, and think I just may need to go back.

First thing I found was the 1925 Merc, then the wheats, got a bit of clad, a fake ring, all the beads were entangled up with the ring. Jewelry spill?....lol

got a cool toy gun, broken spoon, and a neat antique broach. You can see on the back when the pin has broke off.

It made me feel a bit better to get out and play in the dirt.

Great finds and sorry about your job, but jobs are like acquaintances they come and go, you will find another, but this hobby will not break your spirit like a job might.
You can take that to the bank.

way to go on the merc...
i know how it feels to lose a job, i lost mine over a month ago and im just working periodically for a friend and drawing unemployment...

it just gives e a sick feeling in my gut because I have ALWAYS been employed since I was 15 Y.O. I have never went more than a week not working, in twenty years

those are some nice finds.

I know the feeling, been working as long as you have and at 57 don't know what I'd do if I lost the job I have now. What happened to our country? Why did we let all the jobs go overseas? Sorry, I shouldn't mix pollytix and metal detecting. I apologize.

Good luck.

I also lost my job in 1999 of 20 yrs with Westinghouse Pittsburgh Pa.. "Germany's Westinghouse" Siemens purchased our group and with buyouts duplication occurs and you know the rest. Well I have been back to school, another sheep skin, 2 jobs later and I'm still trying to improve myself. (still not satisfied). I know your pain I'm 55 and understand my options are getting slimmer in the economy were swimming in. Keep positive my friend and I also apologize for being borderline political but sometimes venting with people like us is just OK.
And again great digs.

Now you can drink all day.
hahaha the thought crossed my mind.

Sorry to hear about your job loss, seems it is spreading all over the land. Seems like some detecting did the right thing for clearing your head. Keep up the detecting and don't get down about the job thing and keep a smile on your face.

Congrats on the nice finds!!!

That Merc is gorgeous and the pin is great! That toy gun is cool, too.

Sorry about the job. Now you can drink hunt all day. Save the drinking for when the ground freezes!

Very sorry to hear about your job. I hope things turn around for you real soon. In the meantime, use the metal detecting as a stress reducer!

Best of luck to you,

Jim
