I found this ring in Golden Gate Park yesterday. The ring is from the 363 infantry from WWI. They fought in France. Most of the 363 came from San Francisco. Not sure what the F on the ring means. Could it be France? Company F?

Any initials on the inside?
Don....
PS: Yes, Company F
BTW, there was a book published about the 363rd:
Title- History of the 363rd Infantry Regiment
Author- Capt. Ralph E. Strootman

Don: The inside of the ring is well-worn. I can only make out the S____ING from "Sterling."

Incredible find, old ornate silver is my favorite, and history with it makes it even better! The fine Soldier who wore that ring was probably sorry he lost it, but would be happy now because his unit is being remembered long after their time of service has ended, and on the fourth of July! :angel11::icon_salut:

Super historic military find and awesome piece of vintage silver! :icon_thumright:

That's a sweet find

Great find. You should have it repaired. I would.

That is some cool silver ! Nice digs

Fantastic ring! Would that be "trench art" made from a coin? That's bad-ass. :)

Yes, please have it restored by a silversmith! If you don't want to let me know and I'll buy it from you. I'd like to see it restored. Again, awesome find!

One cool ring Larry ! :icon_thumright:
