Brass or copper.... Found at a site that was modern, but also had residences back to early 1800s. The one with the round opening had a metal pin- the other one has a metal slot, smaller than screwdriver blade slot. The latter one almost looks like it had burned paper reside in it like this is a spent cartridge from a bullet but I'm not familiar w this. I'm sure someone here can help.
