Recorded history tends to dominated by important people or events. These finds from this afternoon, were lost by folks that left no recorded trace. They are simply finds lost by peasants. Two very simple Medieval buckles, and a very small value coin, a cut half hammered silver penny of king John 1199-1216. Wonder what the descendants of these people achieved, or even where they are.

Beat me to the first hammered of the year. I was hoping for 1 yesterday.

I'll take a short-cross any day, they are kind of hard to get here.

Great finds and terrific post. Congrats on those.....they are as important as any you will probably find.
