Most of what we find, used to belong to our poorer ancestors. The kind of people that barely created a ripple in history. Yet they lived their humble lives the best they could. They left little for us to know them, but they did leave something. This small selection, from this afternoon, shows that they once walked the earth. A small lead medieval token, the peasant who lost this had no hammered silver coins to spend. A decorated lead medieval spindle whorl , used for hand spinning wool. A worn half penny of George II, minted for use in Ireland. Perhaps the person who dropped this, didn't eat that day. All very modest things, but they meant something, to someone at sometime. Robert.
