Mick Hucknall of Simply Red (red hair) does a very good version of "If you don't know me by now" first recorded by Herold Melvin and the Blue Notes in 1971. Mick Hucknall has been described as one of the best of the blue eye soul music singers along with the Righteous Brothers. Mick sang with Simply Red for 25 years.

Teddy Pendergrass sang lead on the 1971 version with Herold Melvin and The Blue Notes and is what brought Teddy to fame.
