Singing Meadowlark

Took this just a bit ago walking the dogs out in the open space. This western meadowlark was perched in a small tree just singing away under an overcast sky. It's call is one of the many sounds of spring around here. I also saw some sand hill cranes circling overhead, but they were to far away to get a picture, but I could hear making their odd call overhead.

Sweet! Hearing all the birds singing is a wonderful sign of spring! I'm glad you were able to catch it in action.

Doubt there will be much singing today. They're forecasting rain that'll turn to snow today.
